A Foundation to Support Five Area Rotary Clubs

About Rotary International

The first Rotary Club was chartered in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1905. Today, there are more than 33,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries, making Rotary International the oldest and largest service organization in the world. The members of these autonomous clubs are called Rotarians, and we form a global network of 1.2 million business and professional leaders, all volunteering our time and talents to serve our communities and the world. The Rotary International Foundation serves all 1.2 million members and funds the projects we do locally and internationally.

Our Own Foundation

There are five Rotary Clubs in the neighboring cities of Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota, and we often work together on community projects that require more resources, more volunteer hours and more funding than an average club project. In 2007, the FM Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was formed as a mechanism of the five clubs to tackle larger projects together. The first project was the Rotary Centennial Universal Playground at Lindenwood Park in Fargo.

Since that time, the FM Rotary Foundation has brought Rotarians from all five clubs together to also raise funds for a Miracle Field in Moorhead, The Third Grade Dictionary Project, an annual International Student Picnic, support for Gigi's Playhouse in Fargo, Polio eradication, Schools in Guatemala, water filtration and desks for schools in India.

We raise funds by hosting an annual charity bike ride, a classical music recital, a golf scramble, sponsorships and donations.

We hope you'll join us!
